Heavenly Minded, Earthly Grounded

The Holy Spirit woke me up this morning with this this statement "Heavenly Minded, Earthly Grounded", then started to pour into me.  This will be a soon future devotion.

Heavenly Minded, Earthly Grounded

How can any group present the true Gospel of Jesus Christ when they are grounded to the earth?

When there is a friendship of the world (James 4:4) and a love of the things of this world (1 John 2:15).

God’s Word clearly tells us that if we love the things of the world or have a friendship of the world we are not Christians (followers of Jesus Christ). But instead the love of the Father is not in us and we have enmity with God (strong hatred / completely opposed).

When we listen to or attend churches that teach and preach, that we do not have to be different; are we not heaping to ourselves people who will tell us what is good for our fleshly desires, our itchy ears (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

God’s Word tells us that the time will come when people who claim Christianity will not endure sound doctrine but will depart from the faith and heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils (1 Timothy 4:1-2). Because no matter who much spiritual truth they might hear, it will be completely rejected and dismissed so they can live the way that feels good to them.

Well, feelings lie and Satan is a liar and the Father of lies; He would love to take as many as he can that bear the image of God to destruction. That’s you and me. We must wake-up and share the truth in love. We are to be in the world and not of the world, we are to be light and not darkness, we are to be like a city on a hill (Matthew 5:14 , 1 John 1:6-7).

When someone sees us or hears us speak, there must be a distinct difference between us and the world. If we dress the same, talk the same, do the same stuff, watch the same things, partake of the same things; we cannot claim we are different because we are not. We are simply lying to ourselves and we have indeed become friends of the world and lovers of the things of this world. Some will say “I’m saved by grace...” as if this gives them a hall pass to all of the depravity of this world. God’s Word clearly tells us (Galatians 5:13 & 1 Peter 2:16) that we are not to use our freedom as an opportunity or a façade to do evil and/or satisfy our fleshly desires.

We are to be servants of the Lord Jesus Christ and not servants of Satan.

Our minds might think some heavenly thoughts but they are merely delusions of our own making and we are truly earthly grounded.

Oh Lord wake-up those that have succumbed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. In the name of Jesus Christ I bind their ears and hearts from receiving these lies any further and in the name of Jesus Christ reopen their hearts and ears to the truth. Holy Spirit draw them back to you, repentance and regeneration is there’s. Amen.

Supporting Scriptures:

James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

1 Timothy 4:1-2 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Matthew 5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Galatians 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

1 Peter 2:16 as free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.

I John 1:6-7 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
